Photography Lessons
With over a decade of experience as a Professional Photographer I have been challenged by severe weather conditions, challenging lighting, unexpected opportunities, high speed adrenaline filled action and some pretty insane situations!
I have spent the last 12+ years traveling across Canada and the United States photographing events like Winter X Games in Aspen, the Canadian Snowcross Racing series, Canadian Motocross Nationals, Hay Days Grass Drags in Minnesota, National level consumer and trade shows like PRI and The Toronto International Snowmobile ATV & Powersports Show, as well as photographing destinations, products and people for OEMs, Media and Tourism based businesses. Although I am known for my speciality in photographing powersports and motorsports I also have extensive experience with wildlife, landscape, pets, concerts, portraits, weddings and non-motorized sports photography.
It is my time to pass along what I have learned to new eager photographers and experienced photographers who are looking to sharpen their skills!
We have 6 options for you to choose from depending on your area of interest.

Photography Basics (DSLR or Mirrorless):
Have you always wanted to learn how to take quality professional photos? This is the entry level class to get you started on your photography journey. We will discuss the basics of composition, lighting, colour balance and the equipment you have (or aiming to get). Followed by hands on experience with an introduction to photographing nature, portraits and low speed action. This class can be done at a location of your choice.
1hr - $125 Introduction to the Basics of Photography
2hr - $200 Includes 1hr Nature Walk on 100+ Acre Forest, Marsh and small Farm (or location of your choice*)
Photography Basics (Smart Phone):
Step up your phone photography in this fun class all about getting the most out of the equipment you already have! Cell phone technology has come a long way in the past 10years and as a journalist on the go I don’t always have a DSLR on hand. We will discuss the basics of composition, lighting, colour balance and how to edit your photos on your phone.There will also be hands on time with an introduction to photographing nature, portraits and low speed action. This class can be done at a location of your choice.
1hr - $100 Introduction to the Basics of Photography
2hr - $175 Includes 1hr Nature Walk on 100+ Acre Forest, Marsh and small Farm (or location of your choice*).
Its all About the Action:
Whether you want to focus on sports, motors or high speed animals, this is the class for you!
We will cover the basics of shooting action and dive in to more detail on the exact subject you’d like to focus on. If you’re interested in sports and there is a date available we can even have our lesson at a local event for real hands on experience. If you have a family member who participates in a sport (soccer, watersports, horseback riding etc.) we can arrange to catch them in action! For high speed wildlife or pets we can utilize my location on 100+ acres of farm, forest and marshlands along with our 3 family dogs, 2 horses and other farm critters who are happy to have their photos taken (especially when treats are involved).
1hr - $125 Detailed class on how to level up your Action Photography
2hrs - $200 Includes photography session with your choice of dogs, horses, rabbits, chickens and turkeys.

The Beauty of Nature:
Take a walk through nature and learn how to capture the beauty in all kinds of weather conditions, climates and seasons! We will discuss the importance of composition, colour balance, lighting, focal lengths, proper equipment and more to give you a solid foundation in landscape photography.
1hr - $125 Detailed class on Landscape Photography
2hr - $200 Includes 1hr Nature Walk on 100+ Acre Forest, Marsh and small Farm (or location of your choice*).
Photographing People:
Whether you are looking to pursue wedding photography, professional portraits, advertising or just looking to capture better photos of the ones you love then this is the class for you! We will go over the basics and then delve into detail on your preferred subject to make sure you have the skills needed to produce beautiful and emotional photographs of friends, family and strangers alike.
1hr - $150 Detailed class on Portrait, Fashion or basic Wedding Photography
2hr - $250 Wedding Photography Special - everything you need to know

Little Bit of Everything:
Can’t decide between Action and Landscape? You don’t have to! Our Little Bit of Everything class will walk you through both the beauty of nature and the excitement of high speeds!
1.5hrs - $175 Introduction to both Action and Landscape photography
2.5hrs -$225 Includes 1hr Nature Walk on 100+ Acre Forest, Marsh and small Farm (or location of your choice).
Setting up For Success:
Want to start a photography business but don’t know where to start? Add the “Setting up for Success” lesson to any of the classes above and we will go over what you need to know. Topics we will cover include equipment, finances, setting your prices, marketing and advertising, niche opportunities, your skillset and much more!

1hr - $200 Specialized Plan for You and Your Photography Path
*Please note there is a $25 local travel fee for on location lessons in Commanda, Trout Creek, Port Loring, Restoule and Powassan areas. Additional fuel fee applied outside this area.
